Shivtek Spechemi Industries Ltd., a leading manufacturer of speciality chemicals, has announced a strategic investment of Rs 650 crore to establish new manufacturing plants in Gujarat and Rajasthan. This expansion will significantly increase the company's production capacity from the current 1,50,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 6,50,000 MTPA. The project, which includes plants near Hazira Port and in proximity to northern distribution hubs, will create over 500 new jobs within the next three years. This initiative also marks a major milestone in introducing high-grade chlorinated compounds for the first time in India, supporting both import substitution and enhancing the country’s export capabilities.

Strategic Expansion to Bolster Production Capacity

Shivtek Spechemi Industries Ltd. is set to bolster its manufacturing capabilities with an ambitious Rs 650 crore investment to establish state-of-the-art production units in Gujarat and Rajasthan. The Gujarat facility, located near Hazira Port, promises enhanced logistical efficiency, benefiting from easy access to both domestic and international markets. The Rajasthan plant will be strategically placed to capitalize on its proximity to critical northern distribution hubs, further optimizing supply chain operations. These new plants are expected to elevate the company’s overall production capacity to an impressive 6,50,000 MTPA, marking a significant increase from its current 1,50,000 MTPA capacity. This expansion aligns with Shivtek Spechemi’s vision to scale up operations and broaden its market reach.

Job Creation and Economic Impact

The expansion project is expected to generate over 500 jobs within a span of three years, offering a significant boost to local employment in both Gujarat and Rajasthan. With these new facilities, Shivtek Spechemi is not only poised to enhance its own operational efficiency but also contribute to the regional economy by providing employment opportunities across various sectors, including manufacturing, logistics, and administration.

Sustainable and Environmentally Responsible Manufacturing

A key focus of Shivtek Spechemi’s new plants is the commitment to environmentally responsible manufacturing practices. Managing Director Amitt Nenwani highlighted that these facilities will set new benchmarks for sustainability within the chemical manufacturing sector. The company’s approach aims to minimize environmental impact while simultaneously enhancing production capabilities. This commitment to sustainability will resonate with both global and domestic customers who increasingly prioritize environmentally conscious practices in their supply chains.

High-Grade Chlorinated Compounds: A Game-Changer for India’s Chemical Industry

One of the standout aspects of this expansion is the introduction of high-grade chlorinated compounds, which will be produced in India for the first time. This move is expected to contribute significantly to import substitution, reducing India’s dependency on foreign imports for these critical chemicals. Furthermore, it strengthens India’s position in the global chemical export market, opening doors to new opportunities and solidifying the country’s manufacturing capabilities in the speciality chemicals sector.

Future Outlook

Shivtek Spechemi’s strategic expansion underscores the company’s commitment to growth, innovation, and market leadership in the speciality chemicals industry. With a clear focus on sustainability, job creation, and the introduction of cutting-edge chemical products, the company is well-positioned to play a key role in shaping India’s chemical manufacturing landscape in the coming years. This expansion also aligns with India’s broader goals of fostering domestic manufacturing and reducing reliance on imports, providing a significant boost to the nation’s economy. As construction of the new plants is set to begin in 2026, with production slated to start between 2028 and 2029, the company’s forward-looking vision is poised to make a long-lasting impact on the Indian chemical industry.
